Back 2 Community Foundation is a nonprofit company (Section 8) registered under Companies Act. The overall objective of the organisation is to work towards sustainable development and management of Natural Resources and also strengthen the community initiatives through CBOs to improve the quality of life of the marginalised sections. The organisation is focussely working with the Children and Persons with Disability, Natural resource management, improving Agriculture productivity and also on Sheep and goat rearers and fisherfolk development through various developmental activities.
The organisation has been working with the Children and Persons with Disabilities through Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) as an approach and also in strengthening the Government schools. Since inception the organisation has been working with about 500 children with disabilities in LB Nagar and Uppal Municipalities of Telangana State on the activities like CBR services, Rights and entitlements, livelihood enhancement and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR). At present B2C Foundation is implementing a project on “Building the Capacity of Women with Disabilities in India: Promoting their Right to Independent Living in the Community and Ending Violence”, is being supported by USAID and Shanta Memorial Rehabilitation Centre (SMRC) Odissa. This is a two years project, starting from January 2020 and being implemented by B2C Foundation in Uppal and LB Nagar Municipalities and covering about 200 girls and women with disabilities.
The organisation is also doing a research project on “Dry fish value chain”, which is being supported by University of Monitoba, Canada and being implemented in the South Asia. B2C Foundation is leading the project in the Telangana State and the support is available for three years. The organisation has been supporting a project in collaboration with Mizoram state fisheries department for developing a DPR and for enhancing the fish production in the state.
